-bash: fg: no job control This morning, when I SSHed into another one of my systems, this message popped up right under the "Last login" line. Does anyone know what it means? I am used to "job control" referring to JCL on a mainframe, so this one is new to me. ;) Thanks! $$ --- þ Synchronet þ CAPCITY2 * capcity2.synchro.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/Rlogin/HTTP .

Job control is usually when you use & at the end of a command to put it in background or use ^Z to suspend the process then bg to put it in the background. The fg command will attempt to bring it to the foreground again. -- End Of The Line BBS - Plano, TX telnet endofthelinebbs.com 23 --- þ Synchronet þ End Of The Line BBS - endofthelinebbs.com .
