First of all I live in NW WV. I saw a bird I need help with. This bird looked like a robin, except this bird was snow white. Its wings were the normal robin colors. Its breast was white and orange speckled. If any one can e-mail me and let me know what I saw would be appreciated

I called around, talked to the staffers at Point Reyes Bird Observatory: everybody said it was an albino robin. Apparently albinism is fairly common among robins, and can be partial or full-blown, which yours sounds like.

Hi Roger...I just read your note about the whitish Robin. As a couple of readers have stated, albinism is fairly common among this species. If the one you saw was a total albino it would have been completely white and have pink eyes. I suggest that what you spotted was a partial albino. Even though partial albinos are "fairly common". Very few people are fortunate enough to ever see one. Congratulations you have spotted a very rare bird. Bob Roger Weaver wrote: > First of all I live in NW WV. I saw a bird I need help with.
