On Birdbrains (Florida listserve) there was a post this morning regarding a
great sale price of $13.17 on the NG Field Guide (40% Off). I was pleasantly
surprised because I wanted to purchase a couple of more copies for Christmas
gifts.

If anyone is interested, I have made it easy to purchase the NG from
Amazon.com

You can log onto my website at http://www2.famvid.com/wings and click on the
Birding Books! button. Click on the National Geographic photo and it will
take you directly to Amazon.com where the book can be purchased at the great
sale price.
Thanks to all of you that have helped make my upcoming trip to Florida
manageable. Your tips and suggestions for my itinerary have been amazingly
focused and helpful.

The 40% discount on the National Geographic Field Guide is the 3rd Edition.

Therefore, for the most recent and best field guide, take advantage of the
great offer from Amazon.com . You can link to purchase the book by going to
http://www2.famvid.com/wings/BooksPage2.htm

The National Geographic 3rd Edition is really a superior field guide. Each
of the guides has its own appeal and better sections. For instance, I like
how the sparrows are treated in the Golden. I like the field mark
identification in the Peterson. The other major field guides each have their
own advantages. Comprehensively, from the range maps to the drawings and
descriptions, the National Geographic is the most versatile and well-done.
Kim Eckert did a fine analysis of the new National Geographic in the latest
issue of the Minnesota Ornithological Union's Loon.

The sale price from Amazon is outstanding. If you're still interested in
picking one up, go to http://www2.famvid.com/wings and click on the Books
for Birders button.

It pays to order this book and pick up a couple of others at the same time.
That way, you only pay the shipping charge once!
