Had a HUGE great gray owl in a little courtyard at work this week (Coastal Maine), sat there for about two hours, people less than 10 feet away, didn't care at all until he saw a mouse in the corner, he must have been stalking it the whole time. Patient bugger!

Patient bugger! Wow! Did you call the Rare Bird Alert? Great Gray is not your every day owl in Maine! -- John J. Collins Whitestone, NY "In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; we will understand only what we are taught." (Senegalese proverb.)

Great Grays are notorious for being approachable. This is a significant find in coastal Maine. If it is a Great Gray it could be another sign that this is a flight year. Lots of birdlines have been showing invasion birds like Pine Siskins already.
