I bought a Llama MicroMax 380 in the Matte finish. It was in the same $250.00-$275.00 price range as most other 380's such as the Accu-Tek AT-380 II or the Kel-Tec P3AT 380. I wanted the satin chrome finish and the dealer made a few phone calls but nobody had the satin chrome finish. It does shoot ok and the slide to frame fit is tight but it does have a fairly stiff trigger which i am hoping will get lighter with use. My Llama was made in Spain so it is not the smallest 380 on the market because of import criteria i suppose. It should be plenty durable enough because it does seem to be made out of some good steel. It is a 1911 style 380 so it does not have a decock so you have to put that hammer down very carefully. Has anyone fired their Llama or Firestorm 1911 a lot? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- ----------------------------------------------------------- Learn about rec.guns at http://www.recguns.com -----------------------------------------------------------

I've got a mate to yours that I've shot quite a bit. It's not my regular range gun, but it always goes along and gets 50 or so rounds through it. Just a guess, but I'd say I've shot around 1000 rounds with it. Mostly ball ammo, but on occasion some JHP. Seems to handle both well. I did have some feeding problems with the factory mag. I picked up two aftermarket mags at a gun show that have been flawless. [sorry I don't remember the brand] Your right about the trigger, but I couldn't wait, so I paid a smith $35 to polish the trigger a bit. Made an improvement in my accuracy. I like this gun a lot. Sure it's not a top of the line piece, but that doesn't mean it's junk either. It's a reasonably priced tool that has performed well enough to suit me. I do wish I'd bought chrome also. They seem to be finished a little better with the chrome. I've had a few Llama 45 auto's and have put a large number of rounds through all of them. I've had 2 full size 1911A1 copies, a Max I which was a Commander sized copy, and a Mini Max which is an Officers Model copy. All of them were able to handle all the reloads I put through them. The best 2 in terms of overall fit and finish were the very first full size one I got in the early 80's and the MiniMax I got for the wife about 3 years ago. Both had superb triggers right from the factory. The MiniMax has superb accuracy for such a tiny powerful gun. In case you are wondering (because eventually the question will come up), standard 1911A1 internal parts DO NOT interchange with the Llama's. Magazines and sights do fit though. Good Luck. ----------------------------------------------------------- Learn about rec.guns at http://www.recguns.com -----------------------------------------------------------
