Seeing things--or not

Went to the range the other day to shoot my new Mossberg SSi-ONE and
had a problem I'd never had before. I recently got a new pair of
progressive trifocals and hadn't given any thought to how they might
affect my shooting. Well.... as I settled down to shoot I was
startled and annoyed to see two red bullseyes instead of one. Tilting
my head up and down didn't help much Needless to say, the first few
rounds didn't go where I wanted them.

I took off the glasses, and voila!--one bullseye. My groups shrank
dramatically to about 1.5 MOA with factory rounds at 100 yds. (I hope
to improve on that with hand loads.)

When I got home I got out my other scoped rifles and looked at some
spots I'd painted on trees about 100 yds from my house. Same
problem--same solution.

I plan to talk to my optometrist about this. For $350 I expect to be
able to see the target. Unfortunately, given the design of trifocals
there may not be much he can do to help.
