So I am getting ready to leave town for the weekend and I am reading the
local online paper. I just came across an article on a group that will be
having a week long protest type deal right by my cabin. I followed this
link to their website:

http://www.earthfirstjournal.org/efj/2 003_SummerRRR.html

WOW, these guys are winners! My favorite quotes are:

"Bring toilet paper. If you use it"
"Please remember that most of these towns are home to small, locally-owned
businesses and working class folks. So please don't mess with them"
"to minimize harassment is to make sure your vehicle is legal"

I just prey I don't run into any of these guy on my CR :)

Just say you're out looking for power lines to
take direct action upon.

Hell, Hayduke (the main character in _The MonkeyWrench Gang_)
drove a jeep off-road in most of the book.
Ed Abbey did a lot of four-wheeling too.

Watch out for the ones that are gray around the muzzle; they tend to not buy
into all that affinity group, bunny hugging bullshit that the kids spout.Ed
Abbey mostly didn't like anybody and they keep the tradition alive.

Clarify this - they're having this little hugfest at the exact same
place you're going to be riding? That's too perfect. Take lots of
pictures.

Isn't Earth First the group of nutballs that does the "tree-spiking"?
I thought that they got beat down for terrorism for some of their
other stunts.

I'd like to hear Jesse Ventura's take on this one....

I like the fact that they're all wearing dog collars. How original!

Well, I never ran into any of the earths first people (thank god), but I saw
some of them on the road hitch hiking on the way home last night. If I
didn't have a full truck I would have stopped to pick up this one girl of
about 25 that was trying to get a ride. It would have been interesting to
see if she would accept a ride from a couple in a 10mpg Land Cruiser pulling
3 dirtbikes......:)
