Great ride report Amanda, I hated to snip it but I took me a ride yesterday myself. Wasn't the weather just great for a putt. Now, my turn. I reach over for a stogie and the box was empty {OH No, what to do? No cigars and you know how I like my cigars}. The only place that stock my brand {Marsh Wheeling} is clear across town so told the little lady "I am out of here.". I grabbed my sunglasses and a long sleeve shirt and out to the carport I go' Oh No, I forgot about all the anti-thief devices I put on my Harley when I leave it in the carport. OK, back in the store for the keys to the locks. I had a cable on the back tire hooked to a post. I had a chain on the front tire hooked to another. I had a lock on the front forks. I had a chain from the back wheel to the frame. Here I am going through stogie withdrawals and I was dumb founded by all the locks and locks I put on the bike this winter. After freeing her from her bondage, I checked out her precious bodily fluids and she was fine. It has been weeks and weeks since her and I have taken a ride together. I opened the petcock and for the life of me, couldn't figure out which way was the reserve. that was OK because a check of the gas tank showed that there was plenty of gas for this ride. Twisted the gas 2 times, pulled out the choke, push the starter button ands opened the throttle to 3/4. After a couple of roll overs, she started to slowly what to come to life, She would run for a couple of seconds then go back to sleep. After a couple of tries, she roared to life with a "Let me run free " thunder. She told me "Let's go right now." and I said "We are not waiting for me." and off we went. For a old gal, she can still turn some heads. For those who have not met her, here she is http://www.whereiis.com/g.jpg We went though the downtown area of the Colorado Springs with the usual looks, smiles. The sun was warm, the sky was clear, the traffic was light. What a wonderful day for a stogie ride. I got to the cigar shop and got me a box of Marsh Wheeling Original and Genuine Deluxe Stogies, oh yes, the last manufactures of the American classic stogies. I picked up a mid range Punch and had a smoke with the guys in the lobby. One had a big twin so the talk turned to Harleys and other bikes. We got into the classic pro and cons of big twin and little twin. No punches were thrown so it was a great time had by all. (Big Grin). As I tooled back to the store, I stopped by a Micky D for some dollar menu items to take back for the wife. Another guy walked up wanting to know more about my bike. Damn old girl, I can't take her anywhere without her flirting with other guys. I can tell they would like to ride her but she is loyal only to me. We got back to the house and back into the carport she went. There was a little tear in her eye as I locked her up and went inside. This morning, as I walked pass her, she leaned over and marked me with a touch of oil and gas so that I will think of her all day. It worked because I am thinking about turning her loose to room the neighborhood. I better go along to make sure she doesn't get in any trouble. Don T.- Later, I am out of here.
