We just got home from the 1st annual Memorial Ride for
"Doctor" Dave Moore. Dave was much loved in the motor-
cycling community here, as was evidenced by the mix of
bikes from Japan, Italy, Britain, and the USA, represented
in the 57 participating motorcycles. Dave was first and
foremost my friend, and I had the privilege of having him
work with me for far too short a period of time before his
diagnosis last year. He finally succumbed to colon cancer
a few weeks ago at the far too young age of 51.
His widow Sylvia was along for the ride,
and was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and
affection for "her" Dave. The sun shone, we got in about
200 miles of great roads with good friends, and the beer
and stories at lunch were wonderful. The best epitaph we
could come up with for Dave was the subject of this
post, as coined by Sylvia and Brenda at lunch. So let's
raise our glasses and salute the fact that, "Doctor" Dave
has gone riding! <clink>
