Belly up folks....drinks on me! Wondering how I can make the round air filter cover from my 98 Fat Boy fit on my 02 Twin Cam with a Mikuni carb? Heard somewhere about a gasket that will fit over the K & N SE filter on the TC to enable the round cover to fit...supposed to be available at Harley. I went to my local dealership in New Port Richey, Florida, asked about this at the parts counter and was told that what I was attempting was impossible. So much for those idiots! TIA & ride safe. Doesn't the K&N filter have a plate on the top that the cover bolts to? And then this plate in turn is attached to the backing plate? SO if you have the K & N installed then you have everything needed ...? My K & N has this metal plate , and the bolts go thru the plate down to the backing plate holding filter in place. Then the round cover just bolts to the filter plate.... no gaskets seem to be needed. But then again I have been wrong once or twice before. Ralph BS#207

No stress fractures, no problems, no oil leakin' outta th' air cleaner, no spun stand-off bolts, no flimsy assed backing plate, none of that shit.
