Dish Network (DirectTV's primary competitor) charges $5/month for each additional reciever with the same programming package. To do this, they require all recievers be hooked up to the same phone number so they can verify them (the recievers check in periodically to a 800 number, maybe once a week in the wee hours of the AM, mostly this is used to upload PPV info). The standard dish they use easily supports two recievers, more than two either requires a relay switch box, or using an additional dish. I'm sure DirecTV is similar. -jrp
