Until it gets flogged, abused, dropped, hammered and treated to a comparo by
the American sportbike press, and then sells without any problems that are
TOO bad....like engines that drop valves, shocks that don't work, those
kinds of things, I wouldn't get to excited just yet.

65 hp?  Thought only the HD engines made that kind of hp from 1065cc.  Even
my bike makes more than that.

I can kind of see the Buell connection, but it has less horsepower and
weighs a good deal more.  Nothing necessarily wrong with that.  My VX800
has even less horsepower and weighs a tad more yet.  If Yamaha brings it
to the US, it might pull me away from the Cyclone I've been coveting.

Since its 30hp more than a good rider needs, so what? All 120hp does
is get in teh way.

actually that would be Hardly spies in Italy would it not, as this
Yamaha is a 100% designed and engineered in the Yamaha Italy division.

or the Harley spies in japan sent the photos to mille-waukee and Willie
finally penned a bike that looks nice AND complete[1]

Ducati Monster.  They are all cafe racers. . .

The BUell has more power than the Yamaha.

Yes, the Yamaha Bulldog is designed to have a similar profile to a Ducati
Monster.  Buells are also designed to have similar profiles to Italian
Cafe Racers.  They are all aimed at the Cafe Racer aficionado.
They are street sportbikes, not racetrack replicas.  They're market
is different from the crotch rocket market.

Troy if you are the one riding the Buell it would be slow.  Very slow.
With a decent rider aboard they do OK.  You better keep attending
those track day's.

boy you don't see that much, a japanese bike that weights more and
puts out less power than a Buell :) At least Yamaha does not claim it
is a "sport bike" and is more of a niche market bike.

Mike is avoiding the issue badly. If he would just either admit his Buell is
a slug and doesn't out handle all other sportbikes, I'd cut him some slack.
Hell, if he'd agree to a track day at least I could find out if A) He can
ride B) He is a decent person who just has a funny attitude about his bike
or C) just some "Hardley uber alles" type.

I agree with Andy,

That's why I ride a moped, all that extra power just adds to the
weight of the bike, and makes it hard to get the bike to straighten up
after going around corners.

If you are like me and Andy, you can just outride others with pure
riding skill.
