I have been using my 5th wheel for the past 6 years and am now considering a
move up to a MH. I have seen several units that I like but am wondering about
the Ford/GM power plants. I am a GM die hard fan and have never owned a Ford.
However I am prepared to listing to all +/- on both engines. The Ford appears
to offer ezuivalent power/torque while being a smaller engine. I assume is
must give better gas mileage? I now use a GMC K2500 for a tow vehiicel with my
5th and I know that is loves to stop at all gas stations.
Would appeaciate any and all coments re the Ford vs Vortec engines. Thanks

I have a class 33 Ft with the Ford V10. I am happy with the performance and
average about 7 MPG. If I were buying again I believe I would get the
workhorse chassie with the Vortec engine. The reason is the hump between the
driver and passanger is much smaller. Jake

I asked an RV repair mechanic about reliability and he recommended the
Ford chassis.
