Slides Won't and Jacks Don't Stopped in El Centro in our '04 Itasca Meridian on the way from Phoenix to San Diego. After parking, we proceeded to extend the jacks, but they only partially extended and stopped. (Odd sound from the hydraulic system, as if the pump motor ran, but not under a load) Attempted to extend a slide - same result. Manually retracted the slide and began to troubleshoot. After several calls to HWH on Tuesday morning, relaying fault conditions and attempting new troubleshooting procedures, HWH advised me to take the coach to a dealer for more troubleshooting. Three repair shops and two dealers in the San Diego area stated they would not even look at it until Friday, same result from Yuma. May as well go back to Phoenix. Local dealer said 'maybe some time next week', an independent repair shop (authorized HWH) said he could look at it on Friday, but it would be a week awaiting parts unless I was willing to pay for overnight shipping. Ship what, I asked?? You haven't looked at anything! Yes, it is a busy time of year in the Valley of The Sun. Called 3T's in Lake Havasu City, AZ. John Smith said "bring it over - we're busy, but I'll try my best to take a look at it." How's that for Customer Service attitude? Arrived early Wednesday morning, and within 15 minutes a technician had trouble shot the problem and was on the phone to HWH. After a teleconference, (seems as though this was a pump assembly that should have been recalled) John told me that the part would be over-nighted (on Thursday) and they would install as soon as it arrived on Friday. He said; "In the meantime, Red, if you want, you can park over there - we have electric and water available. We'll help you manually extend the slide." Customer service. Parts arrived mid-morning Friday and were installed. Problem solved. With a smile. This is the second time we have driven 200 miles from home to have accomplished technicians repair my coach. I will gladly drive the distance to obtain prompt, courteous expert service from 3T's RV Products! If you are within a 300 mile radius of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, I would highly recommend 3T's for service. Their specialty is RV suspension systems and handling, but they are exceptionally well qualified to handle most any RV problem. The normal disclaimers apply, but my hat is off to these folks - they understand customer service! (They're on the web at: http://www.3tsrv.com)

"Will" <citecn@concentric.net> wrote <nice story of customer service snipped> AND, while in Havasu, avoid Discount tires. They wanted a ridiculous price to balance two tires. When I told the man I had paid $25 to have both the tires balanced at Discount in Las Vegas, he looked up my account, and virtually called me a liar because no balancing had showed up. Actually, I had gone to the local Discount Tire, and because I had done business for years with them, they did it for free. I toked the guy $25. Havasu Discount tire wanted $25 per tire. And they said it would be a few hours. The shop wasn't busy. Sooooo, if you stop at Discount Tire in Havasu, take care. -- Steve (Disclaimer ON) The preceding are only opinions which may or may not have any basis in fact or reality. (Disclaimer OFF)
