Just a note to let you know that to use you cell as a modem to your laptop is
made eazy. I contacted frankb12345@earthlink.net
He is a user of this group and gave me instructions that were so simple without
all the complications. The main thing is to make sure that your laptop has the
driver installed for the cable and the cell that you are using. From there
follow Franks advise and you should be up and running.
Just wanted to share this with everyone.

Many of us have been doing that for several years.

Could you please tell me what phone service you have? I am trying to get a
friend with Cingular and a Nokia 6340i set up to use AOL. Cingular, evidently,
does not provide an ISP like Verizon and Sprint do so the ISP/LAN connection is
not an option. It will have to be a dial-up and chosing a modem that will work
with that phone is hit or miss. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really
appreciate it.

My suggestion to go to Verizon if she wanted good data connecting was not well
received.
