We are seriously looking at a 5ver that has 3 slides, one being a bedroom slide. What I want to know is if it is possible to sleep rather normally in the bed if the slide isn't out, like if we were parked in a Walmart lot or something? GQ

My Jayco Designer 35' triple slide 5th allows access to the kitchen, dining areas with the slides in, and we can comfortable sleep in the bedroom with the slide in too. Just can't get to the front closet very well. Mark

One thing to think about is that if there are drawers at the foot of the bed, you might not be able to open them without deploying the slide. We keep an extra pair of undies in an accessable cabinet for just such occassions. What you should *really* concern yourself with are the other two slides. Many fifth wheels with opposing slides in the living area have blocked access to a good portion of the rig when the slides are closed. Have the salesperson close all the slides before you make a decision to purchase. Check to see what cabinets, appliances, etc. are blocked. Check to see if there is enough room for you to pass through an area. Don't rely on the sales droid and don't rely on imagination. Close the slides before you purchase!! This is the main reason our fiver has only two slides-bedroom and sofa/dining table. When our slides are closed, I have access to everything in the rig except for most the livingroom entertainment center. We do have access to the 12V powered radio/cassette/CD player. We have a TV in the bedroom that is on satellite and a Kingdome. Our side-aisle bath floorplan gives us the extra wall for the computer desk and entertainment center that usually go into a 3rd slide. J The Road Princess Residentially Challenged Spelling and punctuation is up to my editors. I take no responsibility

On ours you could sleep on it but you would have to cross the bed to get to the closets and you can't get to the dresser drawers. The bedroom slideouts on a fifth wheel usually don't slide out very far and are up high enough to clear cars and posts and other obstructions. Mike

Put the slide out, go to bed and bring the slide back in when you get up. Ron
