Well after seeing all those folks at the Florida GTG had laptops and watching them do stuff that I have wait to do until I get home, i.e., Lon putting his pics on CD which by the way Lon, thanks, and Hugh putting some more on for me, plus watching him do a map so we could go to Webster the flea market without getting lost made (which of course I appreciated) me do some deep pondering. Well for some time I have been interested in the Toshiba Laptops. Today at Best Buy they had a sale on the one I have been checking out, the A45-S150. It had all the items that were on my wish list! You know when you peruse all the stuff and say wish I had that, wish I had this. Well this one had everything so thought I would check it out. Ended up they even bettered the price that the factory had given me, so I am as happy as a Dung Beetle rolling in dog manure, I hit the jackpot. Now I have to learn to work it. Plus it gives me 6 months free MSN. Hey they even matched Toshiba's prices which I had brought with me for the carrying case and for the USB external floppy drive. Plus discounted their own protection plan because of Toshiba's prices that I had brought with me to the store. Whoopee !!! -- Lee

Well for some time I have been interested in the > Toshiba Laptops... I own one, and will never own another. I also own two Dell Latitude's and two Apple iBook's and they are the only ones I can reccomend. The Toshiba is (currently) only used to attach to the OBD-2 and then into the auto's computer. The Latitude CPi is used by Ellen (mostly only for stuff with her sewing), while the Latitude C640 is the "work" computer (ie the employer bought it), we use the iBooks for fun & front room surfing (also the AirPort card does about the best WiFi of any laptop ) -- -------------------------------------------------------- Personal e-mail is the n7bsn but at amsat.org This posting address is a spam-trap and seldom read RV and Camping FAQ can be found at http://kendaco.telebyte.com/rlindber/RV

Don't laugh. A friend of mine has some software that MUST be installed using a floppy drive. His new laptop didn't have one so he ended up buying an external USB floppy drive but still couldn't install the software! I tried looking everywhere to see where it was coded to look for A: on installation but was not able to find it. He was SOL!
