I need a PSU for a re-casing project. I have used Seasonic modular units
in the past, they seem slightly less common than "be quiet" which sounds a
bit like one of these made up Chinese company names except it happens to
spell a couple of words!

Is the "gold", "bronze" efficiency an honest measure or is it just
marketing?

Suggestions/recommendations welcome :-)

I've not bought one recently, last change was from Seasonic to Corsair,
after the former started producing different levels of coil-whine at
different loads, didn't actually fail, just annoying.

I think it is genuine. Over a 7 year period a gold power supply
could save its extra cost and then save you some more compared
to a bog standard PS on a PC that is on for a lot of the time.

It *might* be built with better quality capacitors like those
105C Japanese ones.
