<https://www.hughes.co.uk/Hughes-Voucher-Codes-Discounts> This should have a black background and chevrons to the right of the text to take you to your chosen option. I just get white background and no chevron (so no option). I am corresponding (slowly) with their help desk, but am wondering if this is a browser or OS specific issue. When I have encountered this in the past on other systems, it has often been one of two things: (1) In house use of a specific manufacturer and browser, e.g. Apple systems. (2) The web page relies on something in the "in house" environment such as a local file so it only works on the company's internal LAN. I have the same result on W10 using Chrome and Edge. I also can replicate on my Samsung Galaxy pad using the Samsung browser. Independent tests would be most helpful. Looks as though you have to allow all cookies for the site and an associated site. I have managed to find a browser which doesn't automatically block cookies, or had "block cookies" selected for the site. I haven't yet worked out how to allow all cookies again once they have been blocked. All very frustrating. Only the header section has a black background, rest of page is white, no chevrons. checked with firefox (my everyday browser which has ads/cookies blocked aggressively) and chrome (with no blocking). clicking on the text of what I would expect to be links does nothing, clicking slightly to the right (perhaps where the chevrons ought to appear) does follow the link. ICBA to debug the html/css

SeaMonkey: nothing like you describe. Chrome: much as described by Any Burns Firefox: again, much as described by Any Burns, but the chevron I tested does work and takes me to the expected page. In all cases, have to accept cookies (in 3 different places). Thin is on a W7 Pro PC with the most modern browser versions that will work on the PC. -- Graham J

Very useful. I hadn't considered that the chevron might be there but concealed. I have already fired off a grump-o-gram telling them they are very user aggressive. Often incognito mode can help with this - new incognito window, allow cookies for the site, do whatever you need to, close the window and throw away the cookies. Although if the browser blocks third party cookies as a rule you may need to turn them on, eg: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/third-party-cookies-firefox-tracking-protection (I don't know if that setting persists before normal and incognito mode) Theo

Multiple HTML and CSS errors when run through a validator. Using the Development Tools Inspector (press F12 in most browsers) I see that: <main class="content-main"> The class "content-main" (which is the area you want to be black) has "background-color" set to "var(--bs-body-bg)" which is assigned a value of #fff (white). So it's displaying as written/generated. Detailed debugging of generated code is something I regard as self- harm... I haven't spotted any chevrons. It could be useful to know exactly where to look. -- -- Phil, London

CSS can be baffling if you're not up-to-date. I remember my puzzlement over a page I was trying to understand which had a "media query" in the code. For the uninitiated, a media query applies different formatting rules e.g. if the viewport width shrinks below a certain size. Anyway, if the OP specifies exactly where the chevrons are supposed to be, at some point this week I might get a chance to see if they are in the code at all (visible in the rendered display or not). -- -- Phil, London
