Hi all, Is the noise level of a motorbike part of the MOT test in the UK and if so, do they test *every* bike regardless or only the ones that strike the examiner as being too loud? Also, if anyone knows the legal limit for exhaust noise, I'd be interested to know what it is. Cheers, CD.

For the MOT the rules are here URL:https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-motorcycles in essence the exhaust the noise must not be unreasonable and IIRC the exhaust should either be the original that came with the motorcycle or meet the requirements of BS193 and be marked as such. -- Ian "Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest"
