It's a long time since I played with my VOIP accounts and coming back to them now I feel very lost. This bit here (Linphone on my Android 11 mobile) doesn't really seem to 'connect' (in the configuration sense) with any of the VOIP accounts I have. I have VOIP capable DECT phones at home and they're set up to use one of the Sipgate numbers I have. There's all sorts of port numbers and STUN settings in the DECT configfuration, and it still all works OK. However Linphone doesn't seem to have any of this stuff any more and neither is there anything on the Sipgate site to help at all with setting up a VOIP softphone. I also have an Andrews and Arnold VOIP number that I basically use only for texts. At present voice calls into that number get transferred to my actual mobile phone number. All I want to be able to do is make calls using VOIP from my mobile when I have run out of call credit but still have lots of data credit. At present I can't make calls or send texts from my mobile but I can bang away at the termux command line connected by ssh to my home system and I can browse the web quite happily. So, is there an easy to follow tutorial somewhere on how to set up Linphone with Sipgate (or SipDiscount, or AandA). Aha, I have the A&A VOIP working, their support page at:- https://support.aa.net.uk/VoIP_Phones_-_Linphone works perfectly once I'd expanded it enough to be able to read it on my laptop (some of the grey on black was difficult to read). So, I'm up and running to some extent. However a similar tutorial for Sipgate and/or SipDiscount would be very handy as I have some much more desirable (for me anyway) numbers on those. -- Chris Green ยท
